«1831: IOANNIS CAPODISTRIAS»

An interactive game that reconstructs the painting “The assassination of Ioannis Capodistrias” by Charalambos Pachis, an artwork from the Capodistrias Museum Collection

This digital game is an experiential and playful approach to presenting the life and works of the First Governor of Greece. The game is structured in three levels based on the allegorical painting The assassination of Ioannis Capodistrias by the Corfiot painter Charalambos Pachis in 1872, which is part of the collection of Capodistrias Museum. “1831: Ioannis Capodistrias” was developed by the Capodistrias Museum in Corfu in collaboration with the Multimedia Knowledge and Social Media Analytics Laboratory (MK-Lab) at the Information and Communication Technologies Institute (ITI) of the Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), with funding by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Greece in the framework of the invitation for development of digital cultural activities 2021.

The game “1831: Ioannis Capodistrias” was one of projects the Capodistrias Museum developed to mark the 200 years anniversary of the Greek Revolution and the 190 years since the Governor’s assassination.
