WHAT IS IT?

The museum loan box comprises a set of educational material, which is loaned to schools or other places of education. The theme of the museum loan box stems from the museum collections and the educational material encourages the active involvement of both teacher and pupils in class. Through the museum loan box, the museum extends its educational role  and connects with its younger audience in their class.

WHAT THEMES ARE COVERED?

The Capodistrias Museum loan box elaborates on the life, career and era of Ioannis Capodistrias. Its educational material is not limited to the narration of a fascinating biography, but most importantly it communicates the ideals for which Ioannis Capodistrias stood. Based on the museum’s exhibition, the museum loan box uses creative ways to take pupils back to 18th-century Corfu, 19th-century Europe, the revolutionary Balkans, and the founding of the Greek state. The props, activities, and information included become a springboard for pupils to explore wider concepts such as dedication, love of family, respect, diplomacy, national independence, education, etc.
